Margaret de Silva

I'm a freelance writer, editor and content strategist based in beautiful Brisbane, Australia.

As a communications professional with a broad skill set, I have worked in a range of journalism, public relations, and content marketing roles in Australia and Canada over the past 14 years.

My journalism focuses on stories about the outdoors, travel, health, and how people are generally making the world a better place.

In the corporate world, I use my storytelling and editing skills to help businesses connect with their customers, showcase their work, and create stronger B2B and B2C marketing material. I’ve worked with a range of big and small brands, including Visier, Vision Critical (now Alida), Capilano University, Incognito Software, Copeman Healthcare, Zaui Software, Etherparty, Lunapads, Museum of Brisbane, and a number of PR and marketing agencies servicing top tier brands.

I’m passionate about health and wellbeing, and recently, I’ve been incredibly proud to deliver communications and PR projects, including a website relaunch, for Australia’s Centre of Research Excellence in Stillbirth, based at Mater Research. I also work with the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences to connect their policy outputs, programs and events to the right audiences.
